Position Statement
Becoming a member of the APA Florida has been one of the most rewarding professional decisions I have made in my planning career. I get to keep up with the latest planning innovations and challenges at events and conferences at a low cost, while networking with many long-lasting professional relationships as well as building new ones. I am seeking this position because I want members to have the same memorable experience with this organization as I have. I want to be part of the APA Florida Executive Committee because I want to give back to the profession with the knowledge and experience I have acquired throughout my years with the APA Florida.

Although I am currently the VP of the Palm Beach County Planning Congress, prior to that I served two consecutive terms as Membership Secretary. I believe that the membership department is the face of any membership-based organization and that the position itself is critical due to its interaction with members. I have experienced when members have abandoned professional organizations because they believed there was no value to membership or because they had one bad experience with membership staff. I am not a sales person, but I love to share the positive experiences of my membership in the APA Florida and that tends to resonate with people. I love to connect members’ personal and professional goals with our services and resources. In this position, I will strive to provide the best membership experience to every member, whether face-to-face, over the phone, or through other means of correspondence. I am very detailed-oriented, organized, and I work well with others. If you will allow me, I would like to help the organization reach the upcoming membership goals and grow our roster by attracting more professionals throughout the state.
