Position Statement
Having served as a Section Chair for many years, I regularly attended the Executive Committee (“EC”) meetings and experienced firsthand the selfless passion of dedicated planners from all over the State coming together to help shape a positive future of APA and advocate for our profession. If elected as VP for Section Affairs, I would like to contribute to the Chapter by increasing two-way communication with every Section to make certain the EC is kept aware of the great things going on along with the areas some may be struggling with. I will facilitate a targeted assessment of each Section that (1) identifies immediate needs, (2) shares positive and negative experiences other Sections have experienced, (3) schedules routine communication so measurable goals can be formulated and achieved, and (4) assures each Section’s comments and concerns are provided to the EC in a timely manner so that a response can be provided in short order. I would like to augment past efforts for greater communication among Sections to help them share ideas and information to learn from each other. My term as VP for Section Affairs will focus on assuring that we’ve done all we can to make certain every member throughout the state has a thriving and engaged Section offering benefits for their membership.
