CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS

Presentations for the September 10-13, 2008 APA Florida Conference at the InterContinental Hotel in Downtown Miami are due by March 1, 2008.  Please complete a FAPA Conference Presentation Summary Form available on-line at www.floridaplanning.org.


 "Sustainability...just plan it."

 

CONFERENCE TRACKS


  • Environment - How does the built environment impact our ecosystem? Can we do a better job? What have planners done to improve our built environment and to encourage sustainability?

 

  • Society - Are we doing enough to preserve our culture? Are we creating nurturing environments for our communities? How are we doing with affordable housing? Crime prevention? Education? Health?

 

  • Economy and Transportation - What are the economic benefits to sustainable design? What is transportation's role? What redevelopment challenges are we facing and how does that affect the economy?

 

  • Sustainable Initiatives - What are other communities doing to employ environment, society, economic development? What can be learned from past sustainable planning efforts?

 

  • Professional Development - What tools do we have as planners to promote sustainability? What are our ethical responsibilities?

 

  • Hot Topics - Sustainable planning topic of your choice.

 

PRESENTATION
PROPOSAL GUIDELINES


All requested information must be provided in order for the Conference Host Section and APA Florida to consider the session for the conference and sponsor approved sessions for AICP CM Credits. 

 

Complete information is required for each blank on the form.

 

Do not attach any additional information beyond what is requested and respect the identified word limitations.  

 

Please utilize a marketing approach when describing sessions. 

 

After you have submitted a proposal, you will receive an email acknowledging the receipt of the proposal.  This email is your indication that the submittal process was successful. If you do not get this email, please contact the Chapter Office at 850-201-3272 or fapa@floridaplanning.org to ensure that your proposal was actually received.
