Planning Healthy Places — USGBC Tampa and APA Florida Sun Coast Section Joint Program

Join the USGBC Florida Gulf Coast’s Tampa Branch and APA Florida Sun Coast Section for a fun and informative evening with an amazing panel of experts on the hot topic of Planning Healthy Places.

The event will begin with a tour of the UACDC’s community garden, where attendees will hear from the group working on providing healthy food for the community. The program will continue with a presentation from Curt Ostrodka from VHB, who will talk about community planning and his experience in Florida. Thereafter, a diverse group of panelist will talk about their experience in planning for a healthy community in the private sector, public sector and in a nonprofit.

There will be lots of time for questions and robust discussion!

The Event Venue
The University Area Community Development Corporation, Inc., (UACDC) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization with a focus on improving the economic, educational and social levels of the more than 40,000 residents of the socially and economically vulnerable University Area community surrounding the Tampa campus of the University of South Florida. The UACDC’s mission is to spearhead the redevelopment of the University Area, acquire resources, and provide support for revitalization and permanent community sustainability.

This is a self-reporting GBCI program. USGBC Florida will report your AIA credits if you provide your AIA# when you register. To self-report, simply go to; login to your account using the email and password for your credentialing; click on Credentials on left; click the blue button that says “Report CE Hours”; complete form, and hit submit. You are done! Two minutes tops! AICP CM credits pending; the CM reference number will be provided when available.
