- 2018 APA FL Conference Scholarship Application July 5, 2018
As an APA FL Member Benefit, the Orlando Metro Section is offering a Scholarship to any member of OMS to attend the Annual APA FL Conference this year in West Palm Beach. There is a total of $800 available to the Section, and any one member can apply for a maximum of $400. - Section Annual Meeting & Medical Marijuana Chat July 5, 2018
A candid talk about Medical Marijuana Law and Policy as well as the official OMS Annual Meeting for APA Section Business. Come join the Orlando Metro Section of APA-FL, as we conduct our Annual Section Business Meeting and then hear from two professionals with very relevant hands-on experience related to Medical Marijuana land-use regulation, implementation, and local impacts.
Tara L. Tedrow
A senior associate at Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed, P.A. and the Co-Chair of the Cannabis & Controlled Substances Group. Tara’s practice focuses on land use and development, as she works with clients statewide on entitling projects for commercial, residential, industrial, office, and mixed uses. The other side of Tara’s practice entails working with clients in complex regulated industries such as alcoholic beverage and medical marijuana licensing. Tara is a regular presenter and speaker at industry seminars and conferences and advises a variety of clients on the impacts of marijuana regulations. Tara works with physicians, lenders, real estate developers, landlords, ancillary service providers, licensed Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers and Medical Marijuana Treatment Center license applicants, helping them to navigate the ever changing regulatory landscape of marijuana. In the fall of 2018, Tara will be an adjunct professor at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where she will be the first in the State to teach a course on Medical Marijuana Law and Policy.
Emily Hanna, AICP
Is the Development Services Manager at the City of Casselberry and the 1st Vice President of OMS. Emily wears many hats working at the City, including development review, code writing, economic development, neighborhood planning, strategic planning and long range planning. Emily was instrumental in writing the City’s two medical marijuana ordinances, one before SB 8A and one after.

The voting period for the APA FL Orlando Metro Section (OMS) 2018 Executive Committee election cycle is now open. And you have until July 6, 2018 to submit your vote!

Central Florida is experiencing some phenomenal growth in 2018. Lake and Sumter Counties will see growth in The Villages, South Lake County and surrounding areas as the need for providing quality retirement communities expands both locally and nationwide.
Speakers will discuss the types of growth they’re seeing right now and on the 5-year horizon and how that growth is and will affect local and regional planning efforts.
